The Indian Treaty Boundary line will be marked on HWY 95 and HWY 97. Funding has been promised for both markers. The Creek Treaty of Washington in 1832, ceded the Indian Boundary Line across the present-day Henry County from the mouth of Hardridge Creek to south of Chester Chapel.
Dedication of the Headland Town Square Historical Marker.
The Headland Square Historical Marker was dedicated. Students from Headland High School presented the dedication. Please see Events for pictures and more information.
The dedication of the Newville Historical Marker was held in Newville, Alabama. Generous Friends of Newville contributed the cost of the Marker. The families of J. Cleveland Kirkland and Joel Shelley donated a lot in Newville for the marker and it is being developed as the Newville Historical Park.
